Cloth bums!

I'm a total cloth nappy addict - I LOVE seeing my boys in fluffy nappies, love seeing Roman's bum waggling as he waddles around in a massive night nappy, seeing Jasper's big fat bottom half tucked nicely up in his cloth with a big fat fleecy cover on.

For Roman I think the best nappies are the wraps with prefolds; pockets are nice for out and about because they're just like velcroing on a disposable but I don't find them as cute nor as 'safe' with poo containment,, it always ends up squidging out down between his legs! I also love doing two parters because I love terry towels - good old fashioned terry towels, so cheap, so easy, so absorbant!

I think you can get caught up in spending a fortune on cloth - weenotions nappies  look amazing and can be totally customised - but they come out expensive and I just can't justify spending up to £30 on one nappy, because after all it is just going to get pooped on. If you've the money to spend and can justify it though, I'd love one for Christmas ;-)

For Jasper I have a ton of teeny tiny fitteds - mostly Mother Ease Sandy's nappies - the nappies themselves are great, but their covers are pants - they fit a funny shape and always leak so Jasper ends up all soaking wet and I have to change his clothes - which means getting him naked, which he is not impressed by! The wraps I'm in love with though are bloody fantastic - wacky wraps - they fit great, they're adjustable, they've yet to leak and they're comfortable on him - and by heck they aren't half cute!

I got addicted to buying pocket nappies on ebay - I've a few Bumgenius  nappies and they are super, but discovered that - for us at least - the ebay cheepies are just as good - and you can get some super cute prints for an absolute bargain if you don't object to waiting three weeks to receive them - I'm particularly in love with Roman's giraffe print nappy - and they're all also size adjustable from 'birth to potty' - though birth is pushing it a bit because they are all, cheepies or otherwise, a bit too big for a newborn even on the smallest setting and I'm not convinced on the 'to potty' aspect either because the velcro ones are now rubbing Roman where they don't fasten as tightly because he's bigger - but those are small niggles I suppose considering the savings you're making if you use cloth, especially if you have more than one child in cloth.

Finally mentioned - my tip top absolute favourite nappy of ALL TIME - the tots bots cottontot  - it fits like a dream, it never ever ever leaks and by heck but it's cute! I just wish I had more than one!

Do you use cloth? Are you a Nana or a Grandad who used cloth on their kiddies and haven't seen the modern alternatives to terries and wet buckets? Do you love your disposables and not see the appeal? Comments much appreciated!
